About the City of Rosario

Located 32º57'04''S and 60º39'59''S, in the Province of Santa Fe, 300 km North-West of Buenos Aires and with a population of more than 1 million people, Rosario is one of the main urban centers of Argentina. Its geographically strategic location places Rosario in a privileged site, in the middle of one of the most important farming, industrial, cultural and tourist areas of Argentina. The famous Paraná River runs through it, providing Rosario with one of Argentina´s largest ports, where, due to the river´s excellent navigability conditions, large international ships arrive every day. The city limits to the North with Ludueña stream and to the South with Saladillo stream, both crossing Rosario from West to East. The geographical relief is a flat plain; temperatures are moderate ranging from 18 ºC to 32 ºC from October to April, with peaks than can exceed 37 ºC in January-February. The City is connected to the rest of the Country by multiple roads as well as state and national freeways and an International Airport. Rosario also offers a very interesting touristic infrastructure with several historical sites which maintain intact the architectonic styles from the beginning of the 20th Century. The Flag´s National Monument ("Monumento Nacional a la Bandera") is a good starting point for a walk through downtown. The tourist resort of Costa Alta y Embarcadero provides a beautiful place for long walks by the river at sunset. The Park of Independence ("Parque de la Independencia") and Florida Beach are two more of the many prefered touristic attractions. Rosario is known for having one of the most fascinating nighttimes of the Country, ideal for enjoying pleasing moments at different bars, pubs and discos. The City, which has been the cradle of several of the Country's greatest artists, is chosen for many of them to present their works and crafts, putting forward a wide variety of cultural scenes and the best of Argentina´s artistic production.
